With the onset of Fall and Winter, the darkness comes earlier and earlier every day. I couldn't just sit here and let that shut down my flying so I finally sat down and came up with a solution. I've used "side force generators" with LED's to light up smaller planes and had great success with them. So why stop there...
A few weeks back I picked up a 25% Slipstream MX2 that had been converted to electric (thanks again Joe.) 99% of the reason I pulled the trigger was to have a giant scale night flyer and now it's come to reality!!!
I had to show her in all her glory as well as what you actually see when it's just the light from the LED's. The pics don't do it the justice it deserves, trust me this baby is BRIGHT!
This nice thing about finishing an LED project on an electric plane is that no matter what time you finish it's never too late to take it outside and give it a whirl. That's right, I took to the skies at 11PM! 3 packs later I'm still grinning ear to ear with many more to come...
