Still can't believe it's December and we're still maidening planes in the NW! I had the opportunity to put together a BEAST of a plane for Valley View and after a few weeks of working on it for a few hours here and there, she was ready to rock!
It was jammed packed down at the Mt Ranier club in Roy but I got to maiden the 42% Aeroworks MONSTER 260 and man oh man was it sweet!!! Wish I could say it was my new baby, but I'm just the guinea pig/test pilot. Someone's gotta trim her out and break her in right! Got 4 flights on her and looking forward to many many more. Here's a sneak peak before the maiden, disregard the 3 blade prop as that was the first adjustment I made... The DLE-170 is a frikkin BEAST and yanks the 38# monster around like a rag doll! We switched from the 29x11 3 blade Xoar to a 32x10 Xoar Beechwood and the difference was night and day. Uplines are endless at half throttle, and at idle it slows down so well it lands like a butterly with sore feet!
More pics to come with a few more details, but for now I'm going to focus on coming down from the high of the whole experience!!!
